  • Dark nights.

Anyone else think these dark nights are pretty sad now the clocks have changed.

This time last week I was managing a couple of flights after work.

Only flying taking place now will be with night blades..

Makes no difference to me, i fly straight from work & i always finish anywhere from 12pm to 3:30pm, If i'm not busy i'll go to my field whilst at work then if poss later i'll go again.

It is messing with my mind though making me think it's around 8pm

I always find it a bit depressing when the summer is well and truly over and it's getting dark at 5.

I'll prob spend more time hovering a 450 in the garden just to feel like I'm doing something requiring similar concentration.

But any real flying will have to be mornings / early afternoons and I'm hoping to keep some kind of regular schedule going and not end up like last year with months going by without flying.

Sounds like another candidate for a sad lamp.
Been to the field this afternoon after work and god it was bleek almost dark and it was only 5pm.
At least we still have weekends though Tim, it just means we'll have to do twice as much flying Sat and Sun hey mate? But your not wrong, after work quickies are a thing of the past for the next 4 months. Oh bu--ger I thought I was getting used to this flamin clock changing thing and now you've brought it all flooding back.

Agreed Tim. On walking out to my car this evening after work, I had the old "pit pony" feeling once again...

I used to work in a basement data centre in London, during busy weeks in winter I would be in when dark, leave when dark and not take lunch out so not see daylight until the weekends and then not much as most was spent catching up on sleep... Vitamin D levels must have been very poor
