  • 3D 325 Blades - Review

    Kind of a following from this thread;

    http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/main-d...e-failure.html

    The Pro is running a max headspeed of around 3500k at 0 pitch, so if they were going to fail, they prob would have then.

    I only put about 20 packs through these blades until the 450 Pro went in, but for my level of flying (flips, rolls, loops, attempted tic tocs, fast banked turns) i think they are more than adequate for me.

    After passing my Pro over to a much more experienced flyer, you can hear how 'boggy' they can be in certain hard/fast moves like.

    Couple of shots;

    The blade itself

    The root of the blade, seems pretty strong and made from the same material as what is in the Align 325D's (by eye anyway). I need to do a cut through section of the root itself ideally.

    A cut through section an inch from the tip showing the lead weight, carbon and foam

    After looking about, you can pick these blades up from Fleabay for £8 delivered but you have the usual delivery times from HK, overall I will be sticking with these for the near future.

        Oops, forgot about pricing, now edited

        I have ordered a couple more sets so will have to see if different batches of them are a different quality, time will tell.

          Cheers, its gone in a few times now

          They do seem alright blades, and for the price of a set of Align 325Ds, you could buy 3 sets of these. I dont normally buy the stuff from HK anymore, as with the majority of the gear is utter wank and you really do get what you pay for. In this instance its a balanced medium and you do sacrifice a bit of performance (which I wouldnt need anyway) for the price.

          Hope you get on better with the next set.

              Thats where i got them from last time, was about £14 a set delivered. Got them from HK (recommened by PhiL - Sadsack) this time as I have to wait to get my Rx repaired anyway.

                      I've flown the FG version of these a fair bit and they are very similar in performance but only £5 a set. They are a bit heavier and a little bit boggier than the CF version but unless you are into the harder 3D moves that require more pitch response then they are perfect.

                        Another set of these came Thursday from Ebay, and the quality compared to the ones I bought at the HK shop seemed incredibly less.

                        They did not fit in the grips without wedging them tightly in and the were air pockets in the root of the blade which were 'filled in' with the gel coat.

                        Put on another set from the HK shop a minute ago and they seem fine. Im guessing they are all from the same supplier, but the Hong Kong quality control isnt great. Just check em before you put them on.

                        Also bought 450 and 600 size tail blades, 600 ones are perfect, the 450 size ones dont even fit in the grips and need a lot of sanding down, not worth the effort.
