      Which postage rate you elected to use is irrelevant as the retailer is not allowed to pass on their risk in the delivery to you.

      That said I wouldn't assume it is lost just yet.

      I have seen many model shops that say they are not liable for any lost items in the post & it's the customors responsibility. Anyhow if an item is lost using regular post then you cannot claim a penny (like i recently sent blade grips to fast lad that never arrived & now i'm £8 down) If you send i think it's special delivery then you can claim a maximum of £38 (i have claimed that for a lost Phoenix sim cable). If you send recorded or whatever it is you can claim the full value of the lost item.
