  • Winter closing in

Anyone else feeling the colder days and the darker nights closing in fast.

As the clocks move this weekend anyone (including myself) had better make the most of the evening flying this week as it will stop after the weekend.

Still I remember last winter it didnt stop us flying much at weekends...Brrrrrr.

Wont notice it on my heli though as I am not brave enough to push it hard, I expect it to take its toll on the Li-Po and NiMH cell capacity and performance though - must keep an eye on these.

The denser air enables my cars to produce a noticeable improvement in power and it keeps the charge temps low with the colder air passing through the intercooler Problem is the roads are more slippery so making use of the additional power needs careful thought...

At least the winter has more still, bright (if damned cold) days for flying. Handwarmers and fingerless gloves and hot coffee with a sniff of something

Still not really sure why the clocks move though... didnt they keep BST for a few years in the war or something?

Yeh winters here. Had my first winter flight with my 450 and the ESC got to low voltage warning - on the charger only put 910ma back in to a 2250 pack! I heared winter affects Lipo performance I had no idea it was that much!!!
