  • Align Digital servos and Futaba's High speed

Would it be a problem to use the Align servo's with the Futaba RX in hi speed mode?
    From the Futaba site
    "R6008HS 8-Channel Receiver

Offers 2048 resolution plus FASST benefits including Dual Antenna Diversity and significantly reduced latency for lightning-quick response

High-speed operation takes advantage of digital servos’ ability to update more rapidly than analog servos (both can be used with this receiver)

HS (High Speed) mode improves frame rate on channels 1-6 to only 7 milliseconds — compared to 14 milliseconds at normal mode.*
    * Note: In HS mode, digital servos (including those in the BLS series) must be used on channels 1-6. Those channels will also operate gyros and brushless ESCs. Channels 7 and 8 continue at normal mode and accept any servos."
    Thanks in advance

    Paul.

does your Tx transmit in that mode ?? I did not think the modules did ...... but cant see a problem with them if it did tho .... someone else might have more info on it ...

The 6008 has 6 channels you can use high speed digitals with, any digital servo would benefit, but you can also use normal servos in them too.

To utilise 2048 you are restricted by the transmitter, you clearly need it to be capable 2048, I'm pretty sure the TM7 and 8 are fine and I know the TM14 is as I use one.
      Clones are bad

      .... that includes Align ones

I've been told the TM-8 transmits 2048 and the tm-7 1024 by my local futaba service center.
but my local model shop said high speed mode would burn out align servos.
        Just want to make sure.

          spartan servo performance data list

Look for the futaba servos that futaba say are good in fast mode and see if the align have the same numbers in the column on the right on the spartan list. you'll find a similar listing somewhere in the help pages at csm too.

The 610/620 have a max frequency of 333hz which is what is generally thought of as a spcifically digital fast frame rate. ie this is what a gy401 does in digi servo mode, and in non digi mode it outputs 250 hz.
Futaba also have a 560hz frame rate but I think that is confined to their gyro output and dedicated tail servos such as 9256 and bls251. These servos won't work on 333.

The 2048/1024 thing is the resolution, the minimum step the servo will move. That is not relevant to if the servo will work or not, its to do with the smallest stick movement that is communicated from the tx to the rx.
I think you set the tx to either pcm1024 or pcm2048 depending on your receiver.

Then leave those 6 channels on normal mode (mine has a little switch so you can select between boggo and high speed).

No idea really about the TM7 but the TM8 can't output 2048 from a TX that is only 1024.

I am running my r6014hs receiver in high speed mode with a selection of futaba 9252 and 9254 digital servos as well as a TJ Pro governor - all are happy running at the higher frame rate.

I would expect the Align digital servos to run happily at this rate as well.

gy401 does in digi servo mode, and in non digi mode it outputs 250 hz.
really? I would think a non digital servo would have a flip at 250Hz, thats a 4ms frame rate! standard servos usually run with a 20ms frame rate (50Hz), although it seems 14ms (71Hz) for Futaba 2.4GHz

I made a little gizmo a couple of years ago that measures the frame rate and pulse length - will have to dig it out and test the GY401 outputs at normal and digital to see
