No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.

Thanks for posting these pics Pete.

It's great to see any pioneer machines still doing what they were designed for.

Boggy: I must admit that I waited for the wind to drop a bit in the afternoon before attempting to fly it - and I didn't keep it up long! Its like learning to fly all over again!!!

Steve: The pilot is Snoopy! Everyone knows that Snoopy is the World's Greatest Helicopter Pilot!!!

Electricsceadu: I had my Morley Bell 47 there as well, and flew it several times on Saturday. No pix from Charmouth I'm afraid, but here's some from the Scottish Nats this year....

Scoobystig: There's really not much to go wrong with a Lark, but there are some hints and tips I can give you. Firstly, do you have the instruction manual? The recommended pitch setting in the book is 6 degrees. I always found this a little low, and use 7. However, this is measured from the FLAT BOTTOM of the blade! If you are using a modern pitch gauge, this will measure across the middle of the blade which is about 1 1/2 degrees less! Using a modern pitch gauge you should be setting about 8 1/2 degrees.

This should produce a steady climb at full throttle. You don't want it going up like a rocket, or you will never get it down again! It takes some coaxing even at moderate pitch settings!

I've put up a page of hints and tips at the Vintage Helicopter website (link):

                    Peter Christy

If you need any further help with it, PM me!

                    And good luck!
