    Nice save man!

    Had a similar thing happen to my 500 recently - Fortunately I'd been test flying at the time so had limited her to sport/mild 3D - During a few tail down tic-tocs I heard a sudden load "crack" (similar to a strimmer hitting thick weed)... Landed immediately to discover that I'd lost an entire Wash out control arm!

    Upon closer inspections one blade was slightly scuffed and a paddle had a minor chip which I'd guess was caused by the collision with the metal control arm. Found the AWOL component on field too, less screw but good as new.

    Surprising how well these birds fly whilst crippled - Certainly didn't feel any different during the "emergency" landing... Lucky escape!
