  • Model transportation.

The weather was less than perfect to fly today, so decided to finish off my 'table' for the back of the car, to save me messing about with models resting on the parcel shelf.

It made me wonder, how does everyone generally transport models to and from the field.

    Here's my (almost) finished table.

    Lots of aeroplanes and helis.

Synergy across the back seat, everything else in the boot That does look mighty smart though, although would look even better if carpetted

That's spooky, great minds & all that, I just finished mine off on Friday, no pics of it in the car but you get the idea!

I found that by putting lenghths of 2 x 1 under the legs it slides in and out better.

That's a cracking bit of kit there wild4crdybabes and gate88ybabes! I pop mine in the back of my estate car and "tie" them down with some old ID neckstraps I have. I'm toying with making something a little more "permanent" tho.

Now that is a very impressive setup!
I am guesing it acts as a workbench when out flying and as transport as well.

            Good job.

It's designed to carry 2 x 600's with a Synergy N9 between them and a couple of 500's facing the other way. I've got a genny that slots underneath and routed some holes to put nuts and bolts in when youre working on them.

I was going to buy some neoprene to cover it with but I found that 2 yoga mats make a much cheaper alternative. I have got some wheels for the front end so it can be dragged about the field.

These solutions look great, sadly I normally use my mx-5 so there isnt a great deal of room to play with... in fact there is the passenger seat and footwell. My Rappy 50 sits on the seat with my Tx and my rucksack with my tools, fuel etc sits in the footwell. I can have the roof down on sunny days thought

I like the idea of building a heli carrier for the car, something I may look in to myself.

I had no room for a carrier in the Nissan almera.

Now the Trex 500 fits anywhere mostly in the boot behind the luggage net.
