  • wrecked my raptor, i wanna cry !

trashed my raptor today, i'm gutted, absolutely gutted !!

went to fly today, half way through my 3rd tank, decided to do some low level hovering, leftside on into nose-in, pulled to hard on elevator clipped ground with tail, wrecked itself ! i feel such a pillock !!! to low, really to low ! i found it fun doing skid landings though, side on landing gliding to a stop on the grass, over confident & beyond my skills.

repair bill dosen't look good !

    scratch :- boom
    tail gearbox
    belt
    flybar
    rotorhead + links
    rudder push rod
    main blades
    rudder servo ?
    main shaft ?
    feathering shaft ?
what ever else i find on rebuild !

trashed my blade400 on wednesday aswell ! not having a good week !

unlucky. I reckon it shouldn't be too bad a repair bill - next time you have it in the air you'll soon forget about that anyway!. good luck with it!!

          ^^ Agree with that

When I put the Vision in (the day after it destroyed itself!) I stripped it all ready to sell at the field. A while later it was repaired and I havent looked back

You will be the same im sure.

Yeah, I know the feeling of gutted-ness, it sux big time.

I remember when I binned my Raptor royally (was flying fine then I did a loop and bogged the head and it fell like a bick). It's a terrible feeling seeing it there smashed. But what was the most frustrating for me that day was wanting to be flying and having only the one heli with me.

Mine was a major rebuild because the frame was totalled, skids broken etc. I didn't take pictures because I do not want to be reminded.

But as it has been said, you have to develop a healthy attitude about that kind of thing, do the repairs and get back out there.

Speaking after just completing my 10th rebuild, I feel for you. You just got to suck it up, rebuild & get back out there. Hope the rebuild goes well.

Ouch, that tailboom is propper bent.

                  Good luck with the rebuild.

I almost did the same thing the other day practicing the 4 point piro thing in the B test.
If you make a little mistake so low to the ground its very easy to crash.
Im practicing this move at at least 10ft untill I can do it confidently, then I will try it lower down

Gutted to hear about the crash. Was a 30V2? Only reason I ask is I am about to sell a R30 V1 airframe which would be ideal for a repair kit.

                      Don't cry, have a whiskey or 2!

I know how gutted you must be with your 2 favourite choppers grounded.

Try not to let this knock your confidence, when I was watching you fly blade and raptor on saturday, I noticed a huge improvement in your skills so the sooner you get back out there the better.

I know it doesn't seem like it now, but the cost and time to repair them both will be worth it in the end.

I look forward to seeing your next post titled "I've fixed my raptor and blade!" but until then, you know where I am if you need cheering up. Stag on buddy, stag on. x

thanks for all the replies peeps, still a bit down about it at the moment, not sure what to do. i was thinking of upgrading it to raptor50 prior to my crash, seeing as most of the parts i wrecked would involve upgrading anyway it might be a good time to do it ? i was thinking os hyper 50 engine aswell ?
would this be a good move i wonder ? any thoughts peeps ?

I am splitting my Raptor 50 Titan (needed the electrics for my new 700) and will shortly be offering it for sale, I would probably sell with the Kasama head and tail as well. I will post a few new pictures shortly but this is the heli as I flew it.

I understand how you feel, I put my blade 400 in on holiday, got in over my head a bit trying to go inverted and had a fight with a tree, she's back flying now so I can laugh about it now but it did hurt at the time.
