Anyone running Li-po in 10CG?

    Anyone running Li-po in 10CG?

    Am waiting for my 10CG to be delivered today and pondering whether it is possible to run the Tx from a 3S1P li-po instead of the 9.6V NiMH packs... has anyone done it and if so what packs fit?

    Looking out the window at work its bright sunshine and a slight breeze - why cant it be the weekend

    I know several people who do so (with whatever radio). Spektrum radios even let you configure the low-voltage warning accordingly.
    The downside is, you forget to turn off the Tx overnight and kill the LiPo.

    For me, the transmitter battery is simply not a problem. Keep it simple and stupid, IMO.

      I had lipo on my 10C and now on 12fg. Only thing i would add don't fully charge lipo. If you only fly once after charge andwait a week could damage it. Just a thought.

          I have had a lipo in my 10C since new (must have been Feb maybe?) I always fully charge it and re-charge when it is about 11V.

          No problems here, I get a good couple of days of flying out of it (by that I mean left on for a good 6 hours at the field as I fly a lot of gliders now.

                So what Li-Po do you use and where from? As I dont actually have my 10CG to play with yet (come on courier!) it would be nice to have a look at options...

                After all now I can charge Li-po with my sparkling Cellpro 10S I would like to use it as much as possible

                  I used an outrage one, but I would think any lipo of the right size which is 3S would do. The Outrage came with an adapter lead to fit its balance lead, I then used one of my made up JST-XS (or whatever it is) leads to fit that to my Cellpro 4S charger.

                  I used the Outrage as it had connectors on it for both the JR (Spectrum) which I had before the Futaba.

                    I have a 10CG with a Ni-Mh battery and it is lasting a long time. The TX seems to draw alot less power than old 9C.

                      I might just stick with my 2100mAH Low Self Discharge NiMH pack that I have only recently bought for my 9C then. The 9C can stay using the 2400mAH NiMH pack

                      Seem to get excellent life out of both the 2400 and 2100LSD packs so guess there is no need to change other than the li-po weight savings...

                      Quite fancy getting a case for the Tx though to keep it sparkly.

                          Arghhh after getting the tracking number off FL I have checked on the courier web site to find that it has been delivered (possibly) to my home address rather than work
                          To top it all off I can't get hold of my wife to confirm if she actually has it or not why do people have mobiles if they dont have them on/answer them FFS!

                              So do I... I could have fed the entire family for the same money for a month! Who needs food though, I have enough reserves to keep me going anyway!
