  • If you were buying a 90 nitro which one would it be?

As the title say's I'm curious to know which make of 90 nitro people would buy if they were going to buy one. I've got a T Rex 600 nitro which flies well enough so I'd probably lean towards a T Rex 700, but what's best and why?
The budget isn't a bottomless pit but I'd rather buy right than buy cheap, although to be honest I can't really knock the Align.

The best heli Align have produced IMHO is the TREX700. The reason is it flys pretty well and doesn't cost what many other 90s do to fix.

There are a few annoyances, i.e. main gear and clutch but otherwise I think it's hard to beat.

align have the 90 market sewn up imo. i can't see that changing anytime soon. the old gear issue will crop up soon i guess with cold weather upon us shortly but just change it when you see wear and keep a clutch in spares box, can't go wrong really.

if you want something different and more bullet proof i have a synergy 90 going.........

      cheers

Yep I would agree with Richie, the 700 is a winner. If you wanted to stray from Align though my choice would be an Aurora, awesome heli

If you really wanted to push the boat out you could go Vibe 90 SG

The 700 is unbeatable on value and is flown by most of the best pilots out there nuff said you can't go wrong mate.

I'm running a Vibe SG which is more than pricey but it is near perfect IMO and my treat to myself for being a very good boy all my life!!

However.... if i add another 90 to my fleet it will be a 700

I've not got to the point of buying a 90 size yet, but , trying not to look like yet another seep in the flock, it would have to be a T-Rex 700 for price, availability, and again price of spares.

I'm looking 90 wise all the time but:

T-rex 700 - Cheap to Fly parts cheap - BUT Quality of some parts had some issues....

Avant Auroa - Fly's better then the 700 but overall cost, it flys better though had a few niggles ??

Vibe 90 SG - UK price is silly and UK spares will be daft BUT Import it for around 1000 pounds, NO Known Issues BUILD and FLY!!!

Raptor 90SE - The old faithful reliable and fly okay and not to be counted out really... BUT it is showing its age....

Srimok 90 - New monster on the block... Not cheap and over engineered in places looks stunning flys well... Bad bits carbon undercarriage is a tad weak ? No major issues though

Me... The Srimok or Vibe 90SG are the one's i'd be going for

Look at it like this, BUY What you want don't have to follow a crowd,

Quality does cost extra. If you bought a Ford escort or a Merc they do the same thing but the quality of the Merc will stand out and overall it will last longer and hold its re-sale value.... But crunch the Merc it does cost more to fix it!!!

Same Applies to Helicopters we fly... See the Avant thats for sale here THAT is a good Deal

                    as i've owned/flown 90's made by jr,thunder tiger,hirobo, align
the 700 although it flew well was the worst heli i've ever owned
unless align inprove their standards by a big way i won't be going back for another one

looking at cost first then it has to be a raptor 90, a solid performer
next in line would be a freya 90 an awsum heli
vibe 90 std (sg if you can afford it)
turbulence (same as the sg) a fantastic heli

having not flown the aurora i can't comment first hand but they do look a nice heli

a n9 others here will say what there like
and the new kid kasama 90
the other one is the blitz avro as again i've not flown one but only ever seen a prototype machine and have never seen one fly
and don't forget the granddady of helis the good old xcell a well proven heli

and the last 90 i bought was a turbulence
                    a joy to fly

I know you have a fondness for Hirobo and it keeps reminding me I need to get my Evo 50 setup and fly it! I just need to put a gyro and tail servo and wire it up but I'm so lazy sometimes.

I was very impressed with the Blitz Avro when I saw their booth at 3D masters last year, they are really classy.

For me, a Synergy N9 is a great heli which stays great, even after good use.

There are a lot of others though...

You can't beat the 700 for bang for buck but there is always the thought that they are built down to a price rather than up to a quality.
The Vibe is simply stunning but I wouldn't want to put it in
The new Raptor seems ok but the new kids on the block have a bit more.

I can't really comment on any others.

What I can say is, there have been a few exceptional quality 90s on the secondhand market of late so there are bargains to be had (and I'm not just referring to mine either!).

                        Cheers

I would go for a Avant Auroa i think but then again i would be stuck beetween the 700 and Auroa
the 700 is a nice heli but the Auroa is better quality

having just bought the 700n LE my choice is with Align purely on fly ability and cost

Aurora, Snyergy & Srimok are all absolutely stunning looking but I wouldn't want to face a repair bill for stuffing it into the deck!
It's all about the size of your chopper...

The srimok is definately over engineered in places, it looks like they tried too hard to be different for the sake of being different. A mate has had a bit of a torrid time getting his flying right (although finally it does look like it's going well). My n9 has been bullet proof, I've put about 27 gallons through it since the end of April, although I am using a kasama head and a few other minor upgrades. In that time I've had nothing break or wear out through wear and tear, I've not stripped any threads or main gears, I've not stripped any crown gears or tail gears (despite a few heavy landings, or landing in long grass), and most importantly it just works.

While it may not be the cheapest or newest kid on the block, it certainly flys well (tracks much better, especially in wind, than the 700 for example). I've had 2 or 3 crashes with it, each time all I've broken is a skid bow, boom, tt, crown gear once, and the usual feather spindle and flybar and blades. It's a pretty sturdy machine, and after flying a few of the newer breed machines recently (700 and srimok), I won't be rushing to change it any time soon.
