I was trying to find the old thread about nitro field stuff but can't find it.
Basically, the tools you need are the same with the addition of a socket for the glowplug.
My field equipment is;
JP starter (came with a heli but I have seen them go for around £15.00, maybe less)
I added a plastic project box from maplins to house a 3 cell LiPo and I got the starting wand for about £10.00 (you can get cheaper ones, this one has it's own one-way bearing). So let's say I have £30.00 into the starter plus the LiPo. Eventually I'll probably get the Align super starter but for now this rig works fine on .30 and .50 engines.
Glow stick. I have two and don't remember exactly what I paid but they were cheap, you can get them new for £10.00 with a charger.
Hand fuel pump, Once again I got with a heli but they are also about a tenner.
Since I carry my stuff by hand on the train I keep it light, so I have a heavy-duty nylon Draper tool bag to carry it all and a tool pouch to keep the actual tools in, both bought on Ebay cheap. Then I have a 2 wheel trolley that was £15.00 from Maplins.
I don't need to charge anything at the field. The glow stick will work all day as will the starter and I have big nimh packs in the helis or some with regulators and they can get many flights on one charge (well with my flying style they can, I'll run out of fuel first).
