  • GP750 Gyro setting

    Hi,

I'm a little confused....there's a delay option on the gyro and one way its a red light for small models (250/450) and the other its green for larger beasties.

However, there's also a delay which is set by holding the rudder stick and pressing the set button. What I can't make out is, and there's nothing mentioned in the 450 Sport instructions on how to set this up, is what delay I need for the 450, or indeed whether the delay optional.

    Thanks as always,
    Matthew

    Matthew Hi!

If you look up in the Gyro Manual item 8, it tell you that for 250/450 delay should be "minimum" i.e. red light. So if you goto programme mode by pressing the set button for 2 seconds then goto delay section by pressing the set button until delay button lights up - if it is green then move rudder stick until it goes Red. If it is already red then no action req.

Sports 450 is still classed as 450.

    Cheers

Ahh...ha...In the actual GP750 manual it says "generally the delay should be set as low as possible and is used to compensate slower servos", but the Trex 450 manual which is almost word for word the same has that rather important sentence missing.

          Yes it is indeed.

However, its not quite sorted - I think I had the gyro set to large model rather than small, so the little bit of wag it had has gone, unfortuantly the issue that I do have which is the heli randomly turing to the left or the right by 90 degress hasn't gone away. It is though now randonly turning by 45 degrees.

          I've no idea why.

Try shortening the linkage between tail servo to tail by 1 turn and experiement. I think you'd not need more than one turn or even half a turn only.

            Cheers

Not sure if that would help....The model will hold perferctly still in a tail in hover for a minute or so and then will randomly swivel either to the left or to the right...I've been through everything mechanical I can....checked the ESC settings and re-done the gyro and apart from improving it - see above, I've not resolved the issue.

Even taken it the local model shop where the resident Align expert has test flown it, and of course typically, nothing happened.

You've nothing to lose by trying it. Yep, gain adjustment would have been my next suggestion.

Ok, Thanks. I think, unfortuantly, this may have to go back to the shop and will probably end up in the tender hands of Align.
