  • Cheap Ebay ESCs , what's the deal

The ESC on my Hurricane 550 (75A) has just died so I'm looking for a replacement.

Doing a search on ebay brings up many cheap 100A ( Mystery Pentium ) ESCs fro around 15ukp, a whole lot less than around 100ukp seen on UK supplier websites.

The question is, what's the deal with these?
    Are they any good?
    Why the price difference?
Do you really 'get what you pay for' ?

Also anyone know where to get Hurricane 550 spares apart from BuzzFlyer.

Bought a few ESC's off ebay. The ones I got wernt too bad. They are cheap and as a result they are quite basic, they dont have all the advanced setup you get with the branded ones, but I didnt need that anyway.

The other issue is instructions. They dont seem to come with any. I had to google to find some setup instructions.
