  • Pitch guage?

Just wondered if im being stupid or not, i have a T-rex 450 which iv setup without using a pitch gauge and its taken me a while to find a setup im happy with. Just wondered if anyone else has done this or does everyone use one?Might have to get my hand in my pocket and buy one.

How can you measure the degrees of pitch without one?

      - I wouldn't even TRY to set my heli up without a good pitch gauge

        Hi there

Whilst you can reasonably accurately set the zero pitch at whatever stick setting you want it by removing the head button and looking across the tops of the blades, all the other pitch settings will be guess work and, trust me, that's not what you want.

You can pick up the smaller gauges for around a fiver. I'd suggest you go get one...

You can fold the blades back (like you were going to put them in a bladeholder) and then look at the angle between the blades.

You can get an ok setup using this method, but its not the most accurate way.

Personally I just spent a few ££ on a pitchguage and a swash leveler to get everything perfect. That way if the heli goes the wrong way I know its me not the setup

^^ I do that to roughly check my pitch and check I hace 0 pitch.

For the sake of £10, id buy a pitch gauge though.
