  • Innovator MD530 Start up procedure ?

Ok I couldn't stand waiting any longer so I went to my local dealer and got me the MD530
I have put it through its binding and set up procedure (That went fine) But I cant get it to complete the start up procedure
First I turn on the tx
Second I connect the lipo And the red light starts to flash and it beeps slowly. Apparently I should then hold the red button again to hear it buzz until the light turns green. But nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Is the battery fully charged? If it is not fully charged the innovator will not start up.

          Thanks Butuz,
Yeah I came to the same conclusion myself. So I went to plug the charger in and guess what! It immediately blew the plug fuse. I replaced the fuse and tried again but the charger is dead. I now see that the charger should have been supplied with a 12v lead and not a mains lead (The only lead in the box)
So I presume I have destroyed the charger
But why did it have a mains lead for a 12v unit ????
          Guess what.
          I'm a bit p****d off now

Having seen this post - rather than just rushing to answer a specific question, I am putting together a fuller guide based on my experiences with the Innovator - which hopefully will be more useful.

The Innovator is a very good and very robust machine, but is also a bit different to operate. Once understood it is very easy, so I will be trying to cover a number of issues - hopefully I will post it up this weekend.

Many Thanks Edmund, That will be much appreciated

I've spoken to the dealer this morning and it would seem that the chargers ac adaptor and 12v battery lead are missing. So he is ordering an adaptor and replacement charger (No charge) I have also asked him to get me the software for the heli at the same time.
Anyway, it seems that I am not going to be able to try the heli out until Monday / Tuesday next week
What's the betting that as soon as I get the replacement parts the weather will take a change for the worse and the wind will become gale force

I was surprised at the charger being supplied with a 'mains lead' as mine were both for connection to a 12v battery/PSU and the instructions are quite clear on the max input voltage for the charger (15v IIRC). There was no AC adapter with either of my Innovators.

I am writing a novel at the moment and hope to post by Sunday.

The Innovator is a very good and very robust machine - you will really enjoy it I am sure. Sadly I may need to reduce my fleet by one Innovator (the MD530 now with EXP canopy) if I am to persuade my wife I 'need' another small helicopter for indoors (TREX 250 or Gaui 200, or maybe the rumoured Hirobo Quark Pro - a CP version of the Quark SRB fixed pitch machine, which I really miss now it is dark in the evenings so I can't get outside to fly after work).
