  • Horizon Hobby - thankyou!

Well I was made up to get a nice surprise today, a free AR6100 rx from Horizon Hobby with a letter explaining that its been sent out because my dx6i was part of the recall (only gone a couple of days and that was months and months ago). Thanks HH, top customer service!

I used to share the same sentiment until the last time i dealt with them. The first time was great service had to send mydx6i back to have it checked 2 days turn around i got a new one fantastic.

    Then...

I needed a new aerial as the dx6i one had broken on the part where it bends. So i called the up spoke to the service repairs dept...

the guy told me "we need to have the part back inorder to replace it"..

i said "ok i will send the whole dx6i back and you guys can do it..i am happy to pay for the service"

I then proceeded to state to the guy that i would be happier to send it back to them and let them do the work and get it checked over aswell.

So after a 10 minute conversation he refused because of company policy and protocall and then went back on his word and told me to return it....so i agreed

I then checked the address with him and i told him it was wrong and it needed to change....he then said he was not at a compouter and write it on a piece of paper(i thought yeah it gonna get screwed up and whacked in the bin)..he told it was fine...

So i sent my tx back...waited a week nothing so i call them..and they said they had sent it back out...They had sent it to the wrong address...

so I called them up and they said they had indeed sent it to my previous address...

    I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!!

So i told them it was unacceptable(i thought at this point ..id better go to my previous address otherwise i could be without a tx)

ANYWAY TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT I GOT MY TX AND VOUCHED NEVER TO USE THEM AGAIN!!!

I onced had alot of faith in hh but now ...NO WAY!

    they can kiss my A*#

They sent me one as well.

This is the first time I have ever heard of somebody having a problem with HH service heliboy.

Did they charge you for the repair?

When I sent my transmitter in I wrote my address onto a sticker and put it on the back so that even if they lost the documents it wouldnt get lost.

I had a bad weekend last week and managed break the rudder, aileron and elevator trims on my DX6i. This was partly due to the foam in my TX case pushing a little too hard on the trims, so Saturday was spent trawling variuos forums for repair methods. Got going again on Sunday but the rudder failed in the other direction quite soon, so another lost day. Monday phone HH UK at 09.01 a.m. to ask if they could supply three new trims (slightly modified with small radii between the centre shaft and arms) and they arrived FOC at 09.00 Tuesday morning. What better service could you expect. Great service and keep up the good work guys. Obviously Spekrum must be pretty responsive to problems occuring with their kit also.

        Have fun.

          Heliboy,

On sending your TX back, did you not put a note inside the box with your return address on it?
