  • Which way does tail cog move?? Help needed

My brain has gone like a wobbly jelly at this time of the night/ morning (12:55am) so can't think which way the tail cog should go (left or right - looking from tail end) when I give it right rudder???

I'm doing static adjustments and want to make sure I haven't reversed the rudder movements.

I knew I shouldn't had that doze of gin followed by Talisker .. love it tho...

    Cheers

I may not be answering your question, but one way to look at the tailrotor vs stick movement is to point one blade down and think of it as if it was the rudder on a boat. So if you're giving it right stick you want the nose to go right and the leading edge of a tail blade pointing downwards will move left (trailing edge moves right).

      OK hope this helps mate.

The tail rota will turn anti clockwise to the main rotas when in flight.

When you have the Heli tail in to you if you move the rudder stick left the tail slider will move right and visa versa so to make the nose move to the correct command.

i find the easiest way ( gleaned off a youtube vid !) when u give left stick on the rudder/tail the servo arm should move to the rear , i,e left rear, right forward . make any sense ? worked for me. Also main rotor go's clockwise, tail go's anti- clockwise, any wiser ?

love talisker by the way, any single malt really.

Thanks Trillian - that's the first principle method I was thinking last night but got all mixed up. I have sorted the heli now.

Yep - I agree and my heli does that.

I agree and checked that as well - will try to remember it in the future. Thanks

Yep, .. as near nectar as you can get in this mortal earth. That reminds me - must look up for another malt whiskey (or whisky ?) trip in Scotland before December.

I went on a connoisseurs tour of the distillery last year - went to all the places not on the normal tour, finishing off with a tasting - 6 different taliskers! and I was the only one on the tour.

I love Single Malt Whiskys! Favourite just now is a 23 yo signature malt called Teanninich which is not overly expensive (about £72 per bottle) but is proper amber nectar!
