  • Absent Eddie

Firstly I would like to thank those who PM’d me to see if was I okay as I’ve not been as active on the forum as usual…

Unfortunately like so many others the redundancy spell hit me about a month ago and whilst like everyone it happens too, you have to decide what to do next…..

So prior to it happening I approached a very good friend of mine who already runs a successful business to see if any of my ideas would work to start my own. Well, things have actually turned out better as he thought my plan was very good and I’m happy to say he is now my business partner.

So my absence is due to working tirelessly in putting together this new enterprise, which has in actual fact given me so much pleasure and I really wished I’d done it years ago…

So when the web site and company is up and running I’m sure Stuart wouldn’t mind a quick plug for those interested in the Marine and boating world.

And just in case there are any Eddie Gold Star nominations during the next few months please feel free to PM me and I will deal with it ASAP…

I’m also really looking forward to the 3D Champs this weekend and meeting as many RC addicts as possible, so if you see some idiot with an Eddie Gold Star on his shirt it’s me so please chat….
    Cheers Eddie

Well done Eddie - talk to your local business link also and see if you can get funding support for it. We can up north and I'm on an approved list of providers up north to deliver web development. So I'm sure there must be a similar list down your way...
      Cheers

Best wishes with your new enterprise and I really hope it all works out for you. Actually, if you have a good idea, and can deliver something innovative and cost effective, deep in the middle of a ressession is a good time to start. If you can get set-up and ticking over now and in the coming months (maybe another 18), come the good times you will be in a strong position to really make it.

            Good Luck to you!

Pleased you are getting out, Eddie. I'm not doing too bad, now, doing ropey lazy 8s, and the other day I managed a couple of circuits. I've put flybar weights on 5.1g per side, and it's made a real difference - so much more docile. Course, I'm also up to crash no. 8 now, last one would have made you howl - 15ft up in a tree, over a fast-flowing river, hanging by the tail. Took me 15 minutes to find it, and an hour to retrieve it.

Since then, tho, touch wood, I seem to have improved - could be something to do with my DX7?

Take care, mate. I hope the business goes well, but don't forget to fly occasionally.

Good for you Eddie. It's been a bit quiet without you around nice to hear that what some see as being a negative you have turned to a positive.
