  • Stainburn Heli Club Test Day.

Had this planned for a month now and got Chief examiner Richard Budd and his accomplish examiner Ian Wallace to visit Stainburn heli club today to take both "A" and "B" tests for the required pilots.

The day started with the examiners taking the "A" tests first and a 100% result in all three pilots coming out with a pass..

    Richard Hibbert
    Carl Robinson
Richard Littlewood (Dicky) on the forums. Well done guy's

Then the more advanced "B" test went ahead with me choosing to go first.

Happy to say I got a pass and can tell anyone this who hasnt already acheaved this its a very stiff test IMO.

Sadly the day ended with both Shaun (Ponteflyer) and Jeff (spiderspid) failing due to short notice and lack of stick time to cover things.

Only a matter of more practice and you both will follow suit very soon I'm sure.

A mega big thanks to both examiners travelling from Lancashire to sit these tests today.

Was a great day so I thank you both Richard and Ian for your time and effort today.

                Thanks Martin.

Was too busy being serious today (for a change) and concentrating trying for the "B" to be taking pics mate.

Richard Budd did have his camera with him and "Did" take some shots.

                Wait and see.

Congratulations Tim, and all the guys who passed the A.
Isn't it amazing that it takes almost a full tank of a 600n to fly the B test!
This weekend it was really nice to slam my heli about without thinking "I really should be doing a hovering top hat"

I'm gonna make an admission now Gordon.

We only organised this event one month ago from today so as I had never even landed or taken off nose in before I knew I had lots of work to do to succeed in the 4 point piro to start with let alone the other moves.

I have been out practicing most nights and weekends too for the period of that month and used a total of 7 gallons of Optifuel in preperation for this test.

Yes barmey you may say but hard work and dedication does get you there as today proved for me.

Timmy B if you are reading this then a little effort goes a long way mate.

Hardcore 3D pilots do need to practice like the rest of us.

Great day today Tim and thanks for organising it

Thanks also to Richard and Ian for taking the time and effort to come over today, and with so much enthusiasm for our hobby.

Shaun and Geff, sorry to hear that, (I had left at the end of the day just before you guys were about to take the test.)
Ive seen you both fly and know you are both more than capable
                        You'll do it next time.

                        See you all soon

Congrats Tim, a little birdie told me you were taking your 'B' today and it crossed my mind a few times today

For me, never had a doubt in my mind you'd ace it . 7 gallons of opti that is impressive and got upto speed with it all in 4 weeks. That really is dedication

Congrats also to those who passed their A's.

Shaun and Jeff, dust yourselves off, bit more practice and I'm sure you'll have it the next time.
