At the end of the day mate, it's what you like, if you can't afford to splash the cash, then go for the upgrades, I'm going to. I love my B400, I'm comfortable with her, and I know she could be better but at the end of the day, although I'd like a bigger heli due to our lovely British winds, I'll always keep my B400 and fly her any opportunity. I did have a chance to fly my m8's T-rex 450, and frankly it wasn't for me, I just didn't get on with it at all. His is very tame compared to my blade, (I know that's how he has it but still....) and felt very nose heavy too, I struggled to avoid binning it. Like I said, it comes down to what you like, people talk about Porsches and Ferraris as if they're Gods gift, but I wouldn't give you a thank you for a Ferrari, I used to work for a Merc dealer, and at the end of the day was still happiest in my little blue Skoda Favorit.
My point is, how do you get on with the Blade? If you enjoy flying her then why sell her to buy a heli the same size/weight class? She's a cracking heli and I can attest very under rated by people.
I think its well worth upgrading the gyro and tail servo on the B400.
The nice thing about upgrading these parts is that you can transfer them onto a new heli if you decide to upgrade the airframe.
The same can be said of servos (as long as you buy a heli of the same size)
I dont think its worth upgrading anything else.
I'm afraid I'd have to disagree there, have you read the review of the upgraded CNC parts in the latest mags? They reckon they really do make a difference, especially if you put the uprated tail drive gear on as well.

But if you are going to uppgrade all the electrics and then change everything to alloy then you may as well take that money and buy a Trex or other more expensive airframe.
The most important thing is getting everything setup properly
