  • 600n Dampers

I need new dampers for my 600 quickly, its my night fkying and backup machine for the champs. I guess the ones in it are the standard ones that came with the 600NSP kit (i got it s/h from captain crash), and they have gone from being pretty hard to soft as cheese in about 8 tanks, so what does everyone recommend? Used for reasonable 3D

Hi Jamie, the standard 3d dampners don't last long, I used these infination dampners that are harder and much longer lasting.

I like the yellow K&B's, downside to them is they only seem to last about 15 flights. I put the orange K&B's in and they were going fine (although im not keen on how hard they are) until I put a set of Align 600D wood cores and they have ruined them in 1 flight.

bare in mind though, my 600 is a pretty standard sport so the harder orange K&B's may feel nicer on an NSP with metal blocks and grips

Thanks guys, i was thinking about the k&b orange extreme dampers, will give them a go and see how it is.

Tim, when are you and Tony gonna come back down this way for a fly? It's been over a year now!

Might be a daft question but how do you know that the dampers are foobar'd.

I know Tony was trying to arrange for you to come over too us at some point and to see our new heli only club. Be good to see you fly again matey.
Are you competing next weekend? if so we might see you there, we are going to wait til later in the week before we decide if we are going.

I also have a set of orange k&b's, I find them very hard and make the head feel extremely stiff. I definitely prefer the feel of the infinations but like most of these things its a personal choice, both are far better than the standard ones.

Lot's of blade fart, blades going out of track mid flight, and upon inspection, when rocking the grips, you can feel that they are soft as anything, they wern't like that when i put it in the air a week or so ago!

Tim, iirc I was meant to be coming up one sunday but i stuffed the N9 in on the Saturday so didn't make it. Yes I am competing at the champs (well, propping up the bottom of the table!), will be good to see you there, and if not I'll def make it up to your place in the coming weeks. Are you guys doing charmouth?

I've been using the K&B yellows without the spindle sleeve. They last quite a few flights for me (like all summer long!)- but if you start doing stuff like crack manoevres any dampers will be quickly worn.
I've used the K&B yellows from the start. I've just fitted one of my helis with the spindle sleeve and the new Align one piece each side dampers to see how they hold up compared to the K&B. They flew really nicely today precise in the hard stuff and no wobble right down to the end of the auto.
The K&BDD yellow also seem to let the heli fly through a low head speed without wobbling as well as handling the 3D stuff fine.
I have the plastic grips on both my 600n's. The metal grips will be harder on the dampers I'm sure.
Another alternative is the truebloods which seem to have a good reputation.
