  • Wandering flybar

I spun my 600npro up today, took off and flipped it about when it suddenly started shaking violently. I swiftly brough it in to land, control was still reasonable, and found that the flybar had slid completely to one side as far as it would go!
I aquired this heli ready built and it has had about 2 gallons through it without incident. However the last thing I did was change the paddles for some lightweight raptor ones as I'd lost a sticker of the std paddles and had no spare.
I reckon the flybar must have shifted when I was screwing the paddles on.
No sign of loctite on the flybar locking screws, but everything else on the head was loctited.
Just goes to show you can never check all the screws enough!

Not had that happen but flying mine yesterday coming out of virtical climb she went into a bad shake & notice something fly off, on landing found flybar on one side snapped clean off against seasaw.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

I've had that happen once while flying someone else's new second hand 90 size heli - ended up in a few bits! Like you say, you think you've checked it all over and then get bitten.

Yeah, hell of a maiden afternoon wasn't it! £250 all because a 2p grub screw wasn't tight enough

Lesson learned....now those grubs are screwed in harder than Jordan on a bender weekend.
