I can whole heartily recommend the Rave 3D. Curtis has just released a flybarless conversion kit for it too so you can build it as stock and if later on you fancy dabbling without the flybar then all the parts are there.
I find the Rave flies differently to all the other 450's which is perhaps why it isn't so popular on these isles.. It flies much more like my 90's with the 350mm blades than the other 450's. It really can eat up the sky and grooves round large manoeuvres with ease. Also the whole aesthetic design it has gives it much more presence in the air too.
Placing it next to my friends Furion the Rave just looks better engineered and has a much higher quality finish to it.
I had no issues with my build and it flies straight as an arrow even with really cheap Align nee Savox (cough) servos on board.
If you have any detailed questions on it fire away..
The Outrage G5 flies very similarly to the Rave being of the same size (350mm blades) and there's one being sold second hand on here by Smoothound for a very good price right now.......Also Phil (smoothound) takes great care of his machines so if you do go that route you will be getting a very looked after heli.
Another vote for the G5. I love mine and it really does fly more like a larger heli than a 450 size. Can be set up from mild to wild with programable head and different weight paddles and blades.
I can also vouch for smoothounds Outrage G5 being in box fresh condition.

And he's not selling his G5 'cos he doesn't like it...
BTW, there's a new CC ESC available that seems ideal for G5s - Phoenix ICE 50 (50A is a bit OTT @ 6S, but it's the smallest one they do. IIRC, much smaller and lighter than an HV45 + BEC)
Hi Gareth
Looking for a 450 size heli. look at the SJM 325 se pro, you might like it. I'm selling them, We have started SJM helicopters here in the uk. Might just knock your socks off. £225 inc motor, esc and cf tail blades.
