  • Trent doesnt have a clue, So: which 450

    Hi All

I am in the market for a new 450 for a number of reasons, and fancy something differnt (not align if I can help it) and so I asked my mate, Trent but he said he doesnt have a clue, so I thought i'd ask you

My choice so far is CY Rave 3D or Alignn Pro....or are there any others that I should consider?

Also, I like the idea of flybarless, and some of the Mikado vids look realy cool, but are they the nightmare to setup and fly that i think they are? (I've had a hellicommand 3D and a GAUI FES 200 thingy - as ws really NOT impressed).

So, over to the gods and earth dwellers for you much wanted opinions and experiences....

The only 450 I have seen fly is the T-Rex, and I have to say they do look very good. Otherwise, the Mikado Logo 400 looks sweet (and you can get a flybarless kit), though not seen one in action.
    Lots of aeroplanes and helis.

      The Logo 400 is the same size as a T Rex500 turning 425mm blades. So they're a bit bigger than a 450...

The v-bar 4.0 setup is a breeze too, go onto the mikado site and watch the vids and all will become clear...

Not sure if you've seen me fly my 450 pro Gareth, but it is an awesome bit of kit! Def the best all round 450 I've flown/owned to date. Spares are dead cheap and easily available too.

Having owned a 450 Pro.. and if you are trying to stay away from Align, I would give the Beam a go. Mine has been serving me extremely well. Another one you may want to consider is the Furion.

I have a Trex 450 sev2 and I like it very much and I'm about to built a clone as well, however, I was very impressed with the Outrage G5 that my friend (Jay) flew at the recent Southampton event.

Looks great and flies really well.

Kind of depends on how much you can spend (or should I say how much you are prepared to tell the other half how much you plan on spending)

                          Hi All

WOW! Thanks for the many options............now I've loads of research to do .

Flybarless is tempting me but.....don't want to buy a load of trouble....

Will have to sturdy the options and watch the vids.

Haha gonna throw in a wildcard here, if you want to go down the heli field and have everyone say "ooooo that looks nice - what is it?"

On the left, Technex's which is set up for 3200rpm bonkers 3D. On the right, mine which is set up for 2500rpm putzing around and learning. Such a versatile heli with it's programmable head.

Mine doing it's super stable 10-12 min flight of putzing and learning (pic taken in 10-20mph winds, my first flight in wind outdoors).

Technex doing 5 mins of hard 3d like a scalded cat.

Yes, parts support is not currently available i the UK - but I order from USA/Australia and get the bits almost as fast as some UK shops anyway.....

So there - there is something different

nobody got a vote for the Mini Titan SE ?,,,,a little larger than most 450's, excellently engineered with really good quality materials, pretty tough in a crash, and easy to repair afterwards,,,just my 2p
