  • Inverted practise

Had another lesson today with Darren and inverted was the order of the day.

    ohhhhh my head hurts

One big consolation is the lessons are a damn site cheaper than repairing the 600

All in all had a good weekend done about a gallon on Optifuel and thoroughly enjoyed myself

    Excellent Rob!

I have sorted nose in hovering, but thats as far as I have got, it has proven to be a costly manoeuvre to learn

Its really the next thing I want to learn is inverted figure of 8s, but I know it is gonig to be costly so avoiding it for the moment

Why costly? I have found that the one thing that I have learned that has avoided this is height. It gives you time to recover and by now if your happy nose in you should be able to recover the heli from most orientations should things go wrong. If you keep putting it off you may avoid it all together. Little and often, extended loops, pausing in flips things like that. I have just started to push myself with inverted and haven't got into any sticky situations yet! Not that I haven't been able to recover from anyway. Russ Deakins book 3D flight really helps with breaking this sort of thing down into manageable pieces. Don't put it off, go for it and believe in yourself and your ability

I must say I too have taken a lesson with Darren Hardy, he's great. If you feel as if your stuck in a rut he's the man to go to. I just could'nt get nose in mastered from the same fear as most have (crashin) but was shocked that within only a few moments I had it mastered.
Another couple of my demons were also exersized, right handed circuits for one, I just could'nt complete them, but this chap inspires you with ability, knowing if it goes wrong he will catch it and save the expence of a rebuild.
Top man Bob, thanks for introducing him to me.
Roll on Sunday, Loop's, Barrel roll's, here I come.
For those who can fly but just put off that next move incase of a crash Darren is definately the way to go, he's worth every penny.

one thing I never do now is try anything in real life until I have it totally sorted in the sim and thats means totally sorted. It just isnt worth the risk to your wallet or confidence. Your also not going to be flying much if the helis in pieces
