  • Tail wag

    Hi All
I have got back from the Downs after a bit of a break from flying. I am now on 20% Magnum (from 12%). One of the heli blokes at the field helped me with tuning and also upped the headspeed in idle up.
Trouble is, I now suffer a bit of a violent tail wag when fast FF or when dropping out of a stall turn and suddenly adding lots of aileron and pitch to get it going straight and level again.
I have a 401 and 9253 servo on my Raptor 50. It was at 80% HH and, after playing around it is now at 65% but the heli bloke thought it should be around 40%. It is better but want to know what the ballpark gyro gain should be or if I should look elsewhere such as different tail blades. I have the current standard bendy plastic ones on at the moment.

    Any thoughts??
    Cheers, Lee.

Put carbon fibre tail blades on - the plastic ones are probably letting you down.
I use Radix 95s and have no problems at all with my Sceadu Evo 50.
My gyro gain is at 65% - no wagging, just a rock solid tail
    Cheers,
    Rob

50-65 is about right. sub 40 is too low, 70+ is too high.

Aren`t 95`s too big with 600mm blades on a raptor 50 non Titan flavour?

Not sure about the V2 but I think you should be fine...
I'm running 95 tails and 620 mains on my Sceadu Evo 50 with no problems.

                Cheers,
