I have some old nitro fuel that I will not be using and was wondering what I can do with it apart from keeping it my garage for ever more.. and it's spoiled now as I used an old detergent bottle to hold it while I swished out my new container so using it is not an option.

Options are to put it in a large pan and let it burn or use it to light BBQs but I have no idea how it will burn if I put a match to it..

my local tip has a waste oil container but not sure about pouring it in there as it's a bit more that just oil..

      any thoughts ??
save it till bonfire night stick it on yeh bonfire as yee well know its gonna be raining anyway .

Burn IT!!!! We use old stuff to light bonfires in the winter at the club! The keeping a wee drop in the bottle and light the bottle trick is a good laugh as well!!!!

I discovered that after I'd started my heli in the back garden a few times. These funny brown patches started appearing all over the lawn

My wife was over the moon about it...

                  Hi

OK there's the best thing to do with almost empty fuel containers, take the top off first drill a hole about half way up using your hex start shaft, you use this as it sort of melts a hole in so no weak spot like a drill would cause, make sure you do this away from any seam on the bottle.

Refit the cap after making sure there's about 5mm of fuel in the bottom of the bottle, take a piece of tissue at least 5 inches long and tightly roll one end up so it's a loose fit in the hole in the bottle, hold about a inch of it in the hole and cover this with your thumb while you shake the bottle well to mix plenty of air and fuel up.
You want the tissue inside the bottle and just a little bit of it outside the bottle wet with fuel but the rest HAS TO BE DRY!

Place bottle well away from anything and light very end of tissue, run away quickyl!!!!!

If it works correctly you will know about it in a few seconds, you need the flame to go from the outside of the bottle to the inside quickly so it doesn't heat the plastic hence the loose fit of the tissue and it won't work if it's windy either!

When done right the bottle will be blown to bits, it's a little louder than a shotgun blast and you will really upset the misses:-)

Now this disclaimer, don't do this it's dangeroes and stupid and you could well burn yourself so I didn't tell any one how to do this!!!!

                  Cheers
                  Bob
