Paul its the settings on Youtube that are restricting the viewing......log out of your youtube account and try and view the video on youtube it you get a pink banner saying that video is private and cannot view it.

So was that a piro flip take off,then you lost it or was it a normal straight up take off and the tail just went on its own?

Coz for the first second or two it looked well cool

tail failed on Darryl immediately - bearings give up and seized immediately i think he said to me.

if you watch closely you can actually see the tail blades speed up and slow down. I think the grub screw locking the tail gear came loose, possibly caused by a seized bearing.... Main thing it wasn't to bad - - - boom, tail gearbox, tail gear, tail shaft, tail blades, main shaft, feathering spindle, flybar & a double link.


No main blades were harmed in the making of this video....

Main issue was to get the heli away from were the spectators etc which i managed to achieve, although i was a bit slow on the throttle hold

Jebus, that looks awesome for a second, then it got very bad, very quickly!

Without wanting to sound like im teaching you to suck eggs, I always take off gently after initial spool up, quick hover and piro either way, then land and go for it if thats what you want to do Helps avoid nasty incidents like this one!

To be honest Darryl never stood a chance. Soon as he was a fraction off the ground the heli was away.
I will tell you that for someone who has only been flying a short while his flying is awesome. Very envious!
