I uderstand the sentiment and motive to your request, but I don't think that is necessary as there is no critism to the forum and Paul's original reasons for wanting to leave are fully explained in the thread.
I would go as far as to say that it is quite positive and is a good display of the type of people who use Heliaddicts. This forum is "your friendly RC helicopter community" and this could not be a more friendly result. To start to change past titles or posts would make the thread read false and inaccurate IMHO.
However, if Stuart thought it damaging or in need of removal I would totally respect that.

I can see your reason as well Darren and I know you have been the BIG help for Paul and got in touch with Midland Heli and so on. So this is a happy story without doubt. But I'm thinking in terms of visitors to this forum who may not wan to read the whole thread but just skims through title threads.

I my second suggestion is that Paul can edit the opening thread with a PS note :

"things have been resolved now,so would prefer to stay member of a valuable source of info."

Only Paul can do it and that would be his choice.

        Cheers

Like we have said, we both have good and valid reasons for our thoughts. Do you not think the title "Closing Membership??" with the double question mark would prevent people from making the assumption that Paul did in fact close his membership? Should it not cause them to read further if they were at all interested in the answer?
I guess like you said, it's Paul's call and I'm sure he will have an independant view, I'm just not for walking on egg shells for the fear of some fool getting the wrong idea because they lack the enthusiasm to read. If that type of person is put off from the forum then maybe, just maybe that would be a good thing.......now I know I'll get flamed for that one
Just look at how many views and responses this article got in a matter of moments, testimony to the people here having a care for a fellow modeller and a true interest in topics and the pending result of such debate. Those who didn't read it will have by default "assumed" the outcome and will have entirely missed out on what developed into an exceptional and unusual chain of events which is a brilliant advocate for our hobby and the type of people who participate in it.
Did it make you smile and feel good?.........it did me, proud to be involved and part of my club in fact!
So then I question if we should especially cater for the "assumptees" for fear of allowing them to reach an inacurate assumption?

This is Paul's decision - I had made my comments on the thread title before http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/323904-post55.html

It was mainly as I had no PM or request from Paul at the time and the thread had moved on in its direction from negative to a very positive outcome which was great to see.

If he wished to edit the thread title then I would only suggest a minor change as the thread has a genuine place in the forum.

For example from " closing membership??" to "closing-membership-no more!!"

Its Paul choice at the end of the day as any member reading the thread will see for themselves how the thread changes direction.
            Cheers
            Stuart

It would be a great pity to have this thread removed, as it would then remove the record of some truely wonderful work, kindness and generosity that is unique to this forum (in my experience). If a newcomer starts to read this thread and does not bother to read it's conclusion, and gets the the wrong impression - then tough. This thread is a testiment to RCHA and it's core foundations and values.

Being part of this, seeing my club rally round for Paul and then witnessing Paul see his machine fly has been fantastic. Paul is a really nice guy and it has been a complete pleasure for us all to keep him flying in our club and for you guys to see the kind of ethos exists within our club.

I just wanted to gived a final update on this topic. Paul has now become a very active and valued member of the club and his heli is now airborne. He has had a few buddy flights and is now just beginning to do some hops on his own heli with the training gear on. I'm sure before long, he will be off on his own. IMO, it has been a great outcome and I'm sure Paul will stay in the hobby for some time to come. Also, the members who have helped him have got a lot from this too.

                      Thanks to all concerned

I would just like to thank everyone involved(from (trev) Midland helis, all the guys at midland helicopter club and everyone on this site that has helped out in anyway they could) once again thanks guys, what a buzz to finally get my own heli airborne( although a little stressing at the same time) i would also like to thank stuart for bearing with us as this thread progressed from a negative to a very posative outcome.
