  • t 700 conopies

hi everyone i just wanted to ask has anyone noticed that align canopies have changed. what i mean is the wrighting on the canopy has changed colour. i have 2 t rex 700's and these are both 2009 kits the newest one had the new maingear standard in the kit. my canopies in these kits have got red wrighting on them and the others have got silver wrighting on them does this mean that the silver wrighting was on the old kits. this was just something i noticed it could be nothing.

I think the first 2 batches were the silver writting when they forst came out, and then it changed to red writing, don't know why

Speaking of the align canopies, does anyone else think they just plain suck, I've just bought the V2 fusumo canopy (7006 design) for three reasons, the shape of the align one just is not as appealing, the paintjob is far better (cooler) on the 7006 and also the align one is already cracking near the mounting points from putting it on the model and taking it off (only a dozen or so times)

Is anyone else having the problem of cracking fibreglass on the original canopy?

At least this new one seems thicker fibreglass.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I think this is partly the reason people upgrade to the quick uk canopy mounts and thumb screws. With Aligns system when you push the canopy on it can crack the paintwork. Certainly part of the reason why i upgraded anyways.

The original mounts are a pain in the ass TBH... found the quick UK ones much better. But recently ive had to also come up with a plan to extend even the quick UK mounts to get this canopy to fit:-

did it fit okay? Looks same shape as the Smith Bros canopy i have. I had to extend my posts by putting something behind them or the canopy hit the servo wheels etc.

It fit fine, though it may fit better with the extended posts, the only problem, its not much of one, but the only one is the holes near the front are not at the right angle for the posts due to the angle of the sides of the canopy.

yes mine are the same... a fix would be to grind the end of the post to an angle to fit the canopy or devise a kind of angles washer for the rear of the canopy. Something to that effect anyways.
