Barney, the short answer is you can't, i tried everywhere for parts for my dynatron, then the UK importer, they said they don't import any parts for sullivan as there isn't enough of a demand. I ended up buying direct from sullivan in the US, no problems at all, in fact it was great dservice, try here Starters

Thats what I was thinking john but my worry is I could get stuck with a hefty import surcharge for a £5 part. Thats where I got the part No..LOL

You shouldn't get hit for duty on a £5 part but shipping will probably cost more than the item

Barney, As the part is small they'll ship in in a jiffy bag, the likely hood is it will slip by customs, put it this way, considering the luck i have if i got away with it then the chances must be slim in respect of getting hit for import duty.

I'm almost in the same boat with Logo spares, it's cheaper to buy them from ReadyHeli in the US and have them shipped over than buy them locally and I've had a few parcels from them and never paid duty yet - why is it cheaper to buy a German made component from the US than the UK, and it's more than VAT cheaper too.

Customs will charge you the VAT on the total amount for the parts and postage. Royal Mail then charge between £8 and £14 to collect the money.

How bad is the switch we lent ours on Sunday to a club member who was having trouble starting a V twin on a plank he held it ON to long and the swich got to hot and stuck on. Charlie had it to bits in minutes and seperated the plates and it has been ok since.
The alternative is to put a standerd swich in place ( push switch from car accesory shop )
Also a freind put an order in direct from USA last year, took a couple of weeks to arrive in jiffy packet.

Many of the other starters out there use the same switch plate setup, i should think you could use on of these if you can find them or have an old starter lying about.
