  • Whats it worth?

    All,

This is not a for sale post, I am after information not to sell at the moment. (Please remove if it is felt that it is selling).

I have been having thoughts about a couple of my heli's, I have a CopterX that is in an airwolf body that I don’t fly (because I use my standard 500) and I have a Trex 600ESP again that I don’t fly (because I use my standard 500). I’m not sure on the price of these as I don’t see any 600ESP's up on BMFA, I was wandering if people could look at the specs and see what they think it might be worth. My plan might be to sell the 450 Airwolf and the 600ESP and get a second hand 500 (ESP?) and put my current 500 in an Airwolf body (as it might be better in the wind).

I would also be interested in any other ideas or comments, is there a better model to put in a body (I am fully electric)?

    Trex 600 ESP:
    Standard motor (650L),
    Standard speed controller (100A),
    Standard regulator and RX battery,
    3 x Align 610's,
    Futaba 401 and S9254,
    AR7000,
    2 x 6S 4900MAh batteries,
    Carbon boom (and original),
    Spare set of blades.

It has flown once for about 30 seconds but then I landed (Never crashed or knocked) It is new (you couldn’t tell it had flown).

    Thanks in advance.

There are some great looking scale fuselages available for the 600. Align themselves produce a few for about £200 that are ready made and painted. Bear in mind though that a scale machine is actually more susceptible to the wind than a pod and boom model of a similar spec. The reason being the greater surface area of the fuselage gives something extra for the wind to catch.

Of course you could try to sell it as is also, prices vary and despite the fact that it's almost new, it's still 2nd hand and therefore you're likely to take a real hit on what you paid for it. Perhaps only getting between 50 and 60% of it's value when it was new.

I'd go down the line of saying that you're as well getting some use out of it. Stick it in a sports scale fuselage and fly it, if the scale bug bites then there's a whole world of options to choose your next heli from...
