  • Evolution Main Blades

    Hi Guys

Does anyone use Evolution main blades? If so how do they compare to MS composite,
I’ve had to use them as Skyline didn’t have any MS in stock and said it was due to a shortage of carbon,
I’ve used MS since I upgraded from wooden blades and found them very good, is there any noticeable difference or something I should watch out for with them ,,

    Thanks,

if you just hovering and flying around you probably wont notice any difference between different sets of carbons.

there is a shortage of carbon due to airbus/boeing/military buying it all for their new toys. this in turn has pushed up the price of blades and limited their availability.

      Thanks Ade

The trouble is I'm doing rolls loops stall piro turns and have just started inverted hovers, the MS ones seemed to cope very well with everything I was throwing at them with my limited abilities,
I noticed you were using them at Charmouth on your Knight
and after closely looking at the Evo blades the quality doesn’t look that good so I don’t hold any great expectations from them, do you think I should restrict my flying a bit until I get hold of some more MS

Most blades inc woodies will easily cope with those moves and much more

No they're black woven carbon with smooth blade grip ends and tips

            sorry for the late response

will woodies handle 1900/2000 head speed under load
              Raptor50luvver??

"I think not" well I'm not going to chance it anyway!

Tripler woodies may not handle a 2000 headspeed but they are capable of those moves and many more, you didnt state a headspeed you were running..

I ran woods up till recently at 1800 and was doing inverted hovering and circuits, front and back flips, autos, loops, rolls, backwards loops and circuits etc etc

Some people seem to think that wooden blades are only good for hovering, this is simply untrue

As Ade said, there is a shortage of carbon so if i needed blades and no carbon ones were available i wouldnt hesitate in getting woods again..

Carbon is definitely a better bet and all carbons i have used which include several different NHP`s,V`s,radix,JP`s,various SAB`s,F and G,MS,Funkey etc have all given satisfactory results

                      Hi Guys

Used Evolution blades last week “for the first time“,
they seem to perform as well as MS ones at 1900 and 2000 rpm
Did loops rolls, inverted hovers and fast forward flight with sharp turns no problem,

I was amazed I didn’t have to adjust the tracking after the rebuild which
included a couple of new links main shaft, spindle, flybar and spur gear,
I measured everything precisely on the bench but still expected to adjust something!
As it flew so smoothly with no visible tracking probs I was confident enough
to fly normally within a few minutes, "well chuffed"

So, to sum up, IMO the Evo blades are as good as MS “and cheaper”
