You should be able to use 11t to 13t depending on what headspeed you want. WHat headspeed are you after?

I got a plastic head on the hk450 so what would be best for that!

11t would be low headspeed under 2400. 12t and 13t will puch headspeed up above 2500 and 14t should give near 3000rpm headspeed.

Not sure what woud be best for the HK - personally I wouldnt want to push the headspeed very high as the cheap blades may let ho at high head speed. Keep it at about 2600/2700? so 12 or 13t.

Got the motor in at last, trying to get the sweet spot on the mesh was not easy, but once there, it flew very well t12 seems ok for it, might lower the head speed if idle 1 seems to harsh!

If when your throttle curve is near 100% flat line and the head speed is too high, then you will need to get the 11 tooth pinion. As i learnt from Made2fade it's best to keep the throttle curve high so the esc and motor stay cooler. So what i did with mine was i put the throttle curve up to 100% and the head speed seems ok,If i had thought it was too high then i wouldn't have lowered the throttle curve i would have gone for a different pinion.
Try it at 100% throttle curve and if it seems too high or your flight times are lower then go for the 11T pinion. HTH
              Cheers Grant
