  • Walkera 4#3b strange behavoir

    Hello guys,

Since beginning of July my W4#3b started to behave in quite strange way:
Firstly it has lost the stability randomly turning around with no tail control. Now, after replacing the 4in1 module it seems to behave a bit better but still not as it should, as it was just after I bought the heli.
When I try to turn clockwise (rudder to right) it has some forward movement and when anticlockwise (rudder to left) is has backward movement. I believe that ideally it should stand still when turning.

Can you advise me please what can be the cause/solution for this?

    Cheers!

    hmmm..
Check tail bearings. Turn over slowly with finger, bearing near blade could be worn out. Temp fix swap then around. If it works great but will need to replace bearings very soon they will not last very long (go brushless tail maybe)
Not bearings maybe tail motor. If it gets very hot after min or so flying motors had its day (go brushless)

Not that ..has your 4/1rx starting to unstick. Mine i take out of yellow cover and double side tape to frame plate and hold it down tight with cable tie for half hour or so then cut tie off. Appears to stick lot longer...i've found. (go brushless!! ok not change anything but hey LOL)

      Thx Sack,

I did check all you told and all seems to be OK. But what I did is: disconnected the main motor (brushless), I was raising the throttle up and at every level was trying to move the rudder left and right. After I reached a certain level of the throttle, there was no difference with the speed of tail motor. Not sure what could it be, it is too early for the motor to fail, but there is something wrong with max output power of the tail motor or the bit that feeds it (and not sure about this as it was just replaced). Anyway.. it works good enough when not exceeding this certain level of the throttle.

But the bit which still is on my mind is with this movement forward and backward when trying to turn the heli...

      Any ideas gents (and ladies)?

As I am not so good with English or helis, could you mark the mentioned dampers on the attached picture, please?
