does anyone else have days like this ?
had today to myself,
chopper maintainence, first job repair hb king 2,cut out last time i flew it in mid-air, hit deck like a stone, had to replace blades, flybar, canopy, tail boom, and earthed boom to motor mount ( carbo frame ) also changed fins to blue to match new blue king3 canopy, many hours later she's done and flies well, AT LAST !! put 4 packs through, and it still seems ok, RESULT !!
Job No.2fix ep200 hurricane, stuffed it into lawn the other day, stripped crown gear on torque drive ( keeps doing that !) and bent feathering screws, not too bad really & had spares, decided to go back to belt drive and earth boom to motor mount this time as it kept cutting out before, spectrum 2.4ghz, 2 hours later fixed, time for test flight in garden, weather was perfect. Flying fine, tail a bit twitchy and tracking a little out, but managing ok, THEN a bee comes along & starts buzzing round my face, panicked a bit ( cos i don't like being stung ) took my eye of the heli to avoid bee, and you guessed it stuffed heli into deck !! feathering shaft snapped in half inside head and one blade with blade holder attached flew above me at a fast rate of knots hitting my upstairs window ! scratch boom,flybar, feathering shaft, amazingly the blades are undamaged, i'm using trex 250 plastic blades, there quite tough !!
no spares, so it will have to wait for now, shame really my main aim today was to fit it into a heliartist airwolf body as a nice little scale fun flyer ! not today, bugger !
Finally job 3, wanting to make good use of the unexpected fine weather today, decided to go to the field tonight to fly my raptor 30, the conditions were near perfect ! only i could not get it to start, tried & tried, it just refused to start, gave up & went home.
oh well started out ok, just went a bit pete tong in the end !
