  • A good day

After my last major "in" last month, my confidence took a severe dent, to the point I was seriously considering jacking it in. Due to circumstances such as hotel busy/lousy weather, I'd only managed a couple of very short hovers in windy conditions since I rebuilt the heli.

Today, tho, it was still quite breezy, but I went for it! After a lot of practice on the sim recently, I was moving my heli across the sky!

It was almost lazy eights, but not that precise, , if that makes sense.

I flew 4 batteries, enjoyed every one, and came away with an intact heli and a feeling that I was making progress.

    Thanks for reading.

Well done Brian - v pleased for you. I went out this evening - virtually no wind and field to myself. Real good flying and just like you, my heli is ready for flying tomorrow again.

I might know what you mean. My eights are beyond lazy, barely recognisable as eights

Yep, I think maybe you & I could do synchronised not-really-eights?

Thanks, Mo. I'll certainly try. How's your flying going? I bet your main problem is deciding which heli to fly.

glad to see that feel good factor is back, mate trust me whether you 3d ing or just hovering.. it don't mattter, least your enjoying yourself and doing what you want..

My 8's are so lazy, sometimes.. I don't even use the heli

It takes time these things, and if it was easy it would not be as rewarding as a hobby as it can be

Sounds good, Mike. how's the 500? are you enjoying it? I've got mine calmed down to my level now, 70% D/R on elev & ail, and the softer grey dampers in, and as you know, the 440mm flybar. Nice and stable!
