    OK, here's the question.
Rave 3D or Trex 450 pro?
So if money was not a problem which one would you chose and why?
What are the pro's and con's with both models putting them back to back??

    About me!
I've had a long break from heli flying, but looking to get back into it, I know it's like riding a bike you don't forget but get a little wobbly, back then i had many heli's but the smallest was the Kiosio (spelling) 30 SRX with a Irvine 36 and it went like a rocket, and the others were 60/90 size and a 45cc petrol 5 blade Hughes 500.
I can still fly as i get asked to trim out models for friends/members of the club.
    Paul.

I've never had a heli with a belt driven tail, and not sure if i want to, I've heard they sap more power on auto's on smaller models, i always liked to auto.

Whichever one you buy you will propbably (at some point)wish you had bought the other. Purely because someone else has got the opposite of what you bought or you have a ding and you can't get the spares for your chosen heli due to whatever reasons.....Pick one and just stick to your choice is my advice.....one mans meat is another mans poison etc etc etc.

And someone will always say you should have bought this or that but have you noticed that the majority of the time they never say why!!!!!

Speak to some one who has owned one for a while and can give you a honest appraisal....Not because I have just bought one.

If you like to auto then this size heli is not what you want
It is possible to auto a 450 size, in that you can get it down safe and 50% of the time gently, but usually its a bit of a dump that you wouldn't want onto tarmac.
There are some superhuman pilots who can inverted auto a 450 and get it down, but its not for mortals.

You can auto with some sorts of blade, but then they are a bit poor for 3D.

I wonder why 450s have the one way there at all, having had loads of problems with it slipping a while back. I flew for ages with the two gears bolted together.

Any good pilot can make a bad heli look good!!!! NO I am not saying the rave is bad.....Just saying that yes some can auto a 450 some can't.

I probably couldnt but I bet BobJ could....Just saying it is down to the setup and the pilot.

I would choose a 450PRO every time but no doubt many would advise another. What do most people fly in your neck of the woods and what spares are available locally might swing the balance.

                      Thanks for all the reply's!
Most of the shops near me sell the trex's but through a good friend i can get the rave + spares at cost also all futaba gear, he has a rave he's just had the first flights with (yesterday and today), But I can't try his as he fly's mode one and I mode two.
I'm also looking at this size heli because i would need a box to put it in for driving and i know for a 450 there are some nice alu box's for them. the roads are very twisty on the way to the field..
