Yep I have some spare as well which you can have but perhaps you do not need now.

PS carbon fibre is much too good for B400 but may be useful if you're going to do 3D stuff.

Hanger-7, great to see someone else on a sensible wave length.....I dont see why anyone else would use any better blades than all of us have mentioned....the cheap HG blades do just fine for fun flying, well at my level anyway...

        Hi All

Carbon blades from here have arrived.

        4X 325mm carbon main Blade for Trex 450-SE 450-XL 3D on eBay (end time 22-Aug-09 02:21:33 BST)

No chance of flight test, too busy with maiden of my Belt-CP, but first impressions are good.
Very light, only 2 gram heavier than the woodies from the Belt, and very, very stiff, as you would expect. I paid £6.80 a pair, and IMHO very good value.
So much I have bought a couple more pairs.
I have an Ark 400, currently running Aligh woodies at an insane H/S.
Might just be the test vehicle. Will keep you posted.
        Cheers
        Jeff

          Hi guys,

Am thinking of getting some of these, but, do they come a balanced pairs?? Or will i need to get a blade balancer to sort them out myself??

          Cheers

            Hi Joe

However good quality the blades are, they will almost certainly need balancing.
A good blade balancer is your best investment, and will pay for itself in a smoother running helicopter.
I am sure either I, or the experts here can suggest a good make.
            Hope this helps

                Hi Joe

Been searching through the infernal net, trying to find the blade balancer I use. No luck, mind you, I have had it for years, so it is probably out of production.
There is one I see a lot. Looks good for what you need, although I have never used one. Perhaps some other forum members could comment?

If you need one quick, this is the cheapest UK supplier I have found

                Blade Balancer From Heliguy.com

If you can afford to wait a bit, this is the same, but half the price

Helicopter Blade Balancer Tester align Trex 450 500 600 on eBay (end time 19-Aug-09 02:56:13 BST)

This supplier is in HK, but I have bought loads from him. He's ok, goods normally take about 10 days.

I have seen some balancers at about £3. these consist of a threaded rod, with pointed ends, and two nuts. Idea is you bolt the blades together, back to back, and then hold between your fingers to balance.
Advise against one of these. You need one hand to hold the balancer, and two to apply the tape.
Don't have three hands, do you?
                No, thought not!

                Hope this helps

                Jeff

Thanks for the link, much appreciated.

Just what i was looking for!!!!!.

One question though (as if i havent hijacked this thread enough), how do you find the centre of gravity of the blade with this, or is that something else i need to buy, or does it not matter where you put the tape.??

                  Cheers

                    Hi Joe
Probably get myself shot for this, but up to 500 size, I don't worry about c/g. There is a way to establish spanwise c/g, and some even go to chordwise c/g as well.
IMHO, in the blade sizes we deal with, this is a waste of good flying time.
Just make sure blades balance against each other, then go play.

I repeat, this is my opinion, not gospel, but it works.

                    Cheers

Thanks for keep me posted about the blades, I've not had time to fly in the last week with kids on hols etc but I will order some in the next week and see how it goes.

As per my sig I got the blade 400 and the trex 600 both lecy's but am looking to get a trex 500 nitro to progress in to the hobby with engines.
