  • At Last!

I've finally managed a flight at my new club.

My son is down to see me for a few days, and as the rain cleared up about an hour ago, we went down to give it a whirl. After clearing the sheep from the takeoff/landing area, I managed 2 flights, both about 2 minutes. This is the first flight since I totally binned the heli about a month ago. I just did simple hovering, really to prove to myself I could still do it.

All went well, but I called it a day after the first pack, as the wind was getting up again.

Still, I've been up in the air again.

A couple of pics of my new club. Anyone feel the need for sheep jokes, feel free.

Nice one Brian. I was scanning the horizon in your shots, looking for your heli...to no avail!

I just took a couple of shots to show how rural it is. My son took a couple of shots of the heli on the ground, and did a short video, but it's very boring - just tail-in hovering.

If you fancy coming down for a few days, I could probably arrange a guest membership. I know a good hotel you could stay at.

Thanks, Mike. I'll do my best. It's good to have plenty of space to fly. I've not met the other members yet, but that's something to look forward to.

It's right next to the Osprey project at Glaslyn. The "club" consists of a field with an area close mown & protected by an electric fence. So far, I've had to clear it of cattle & sheep.

The good bit, tho, is no restrictions, I can fly whenever I want (weather & hotel permitting)

You'll have to come down & fly sometime, Arwel. I'm looking forward to going to your club once things quieten down at the hotel.
