  • I got one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now i know that some people on here fly planks so might be upset. But for the rest of us i managed to take one out the sky today.we had a slight mid air coming together. No ones fault just happened but i took some photos to show the out come of the plane for some people enjoyment and some peoples sorrow. The worst part of it is i had waited all morning for a free spot on the field and when i got a chance went straight out just as i was spooling the heli up out come another plank (who in turn had been in and out all morning and had around 10 flights already). Now why could they not wait for 10 mins so i could have a fly. Well he come off worst. the plane ended up in the floor and i flew my heli in and landed it!! On inspection there was not a mark on the heli other than a small crack in one of the blades which unfortunately i can't afford to replace at the mo as i am out of work at the min with a broken back and money is tight. Have a look at the pics it made a nice mess!!!

we have a seperate flight line at our club and when you take off you have to inform others it certainly helps avoid things like that but having said that my own acromaster was in a collision with a 450 altough we were on different flight lines it was very windy the 450 pilot was caught out by a very strong gust his tail caught the tail of my plane not to much damage though he lost the tail fins and chewed up one of his gears on tail gears i got away with a bit of glue and a bit patching up

nice job of the plank - hope he brought a bin bag - glad you were able to land your heli safely mate - very lucky indeed!!! You're right he should have waited that 10 minutes and it would have been a different story.

Thats one bit i forgot to mention it wasn't on take off we had been flying around for a min or 2 and this guy always does low passes with this in mind i stayed up a little and kept my eye out for him. he come into do a low pass and i see it out the corner of my eye and i punched it up in the air at the same time he realized he was coming at me and also pulled back on the elevator. so it just happened as we was both trying to get out of the way

theres only a few guys at our club that do low flying and 3d at close quarters they usualy wait for the helis to come down first but when young billy flys we just stand there and watch as he puts on a really good show
you dont want to miss it.

It seems unfair for them to moan at you as this plank flyer has proved how selfish they are,If he had ten flights already and he couldn't have waited a little while just as you were having your first go on your heli.If it was me i would have been seriously angry after he crashed into yours ,Afterall if he had waited it wouldn't have happened.

I fly Same place as Neil and yes if you wait to be polite they just take advantage.

its the sort of place they will take off after you have been in the air for 5 mins and then bitch about having to fly with a heli, so you end up either waiting and getting frustraited, or you have to learn to develop a thick skin and just fly anyway, to be fair most have learnt to stay away when a heli is flying but some atre still to stupid to learn, you know the ones only use the field for takeoffs.

I'd have stamped on the remnants, just to ensure the plank pilot got the point

Why do you guys fly with these plankers? Your model is worth at least ten times what theirs is so they don`t care.

if we want to fly at a club some of us unfortunately dont have a choice.

and flying a 700 nitro in a park is not an option.
