Aide get yourself a Sullivan Dynatron and whack a 5 cell lipo on the side and it will start anything ;-) You'll never have to buy another one again. Pricey but well worth it buddy Can whack anything up to 24v through it.

Get a Dynatron starter and some used 6s LiPos, you won't regret it.
that said, if it's flooding, be careful. Even the most powerful starter doesn't work on a drowned engine (and in the worst case you'll damage it).

edit oops apparently others were faster :-)

U know the saying by now Ade... 'buy right buy once". Even a second hand dynatron would be a great purchase as there so good they will seem to last forever. I use an old 6 cell FP evolite 2500mah pack on mine and its almost too powerful for a 50 size engine really so you gotta be aware of it. Turns the 90 over with ease also. 5 cell would be more suited IMO.

I did but mine was not the Dynatron, rather the model down - the Hitork Deluxe:

I got luck due to, I think, a spelling mistake. The guy called it a Sullavan rather than a Sullivan.

If you already have a cordless drill you may as well give that a try before you go out and spend on a new starter.

I have a dynotron and run mine on a cheep 5s lipo from hong kong, works fine and will start my aurora no problem.
One thing to help with starting is shut down the engine by the fuel clip not the trim on the transmitter, also helps with bearing life in the engine, and helps prevent hydro lock when you go to fly next

last thing before you pack up pull off the fuel tube and start the motor, and keep going until it will fire no more. This gets rid of the rest of the fuel in the motor.

sometimes when the tank is full fuel can run into the motor and fill it up.
A clip on the fuel line can help with that.

When the motor won't turn, last resort is whip off the canopy and remove the glow plug to spin the excess fuel out.

There is a new all in one lipo powered starter just coming out from align - ask bobJ at skyline to see when its available.

                          Hi,

Try the Magnum starters from Weston UK, They managed to start most of my heli's where other high powered & expensive ones could not.

The dynatron is probably the best, but as others have said expensive.

I use this one: PowerPro HD 12V Starter (HAN162): Hangar 9

along with a 4s 5000mah lipo and it starts my 90 easily. If you don't have a 6s lipo charger, consider a 4s lipo as it will work fine.
