  • Align 450 batteries.

    Hi All.

Could someone tell me what size lipo battery the Trex 450 se v2 takes please. Just trying to put a few prices together.

Also, could someone take a look at the gyro combo set (under gyro's) at
www.sussexhelicopters.co.uk (part # hg5000+hsg5083mg) and tell me if they are suitable for the 450 se v2, please.

Also, any advice on what to/not to put on it, would be much appreciated.

    Grateful thanks for this.

    All the best for now.

    Chris.
Please don't rush me, I'm in too much of a hurry.

Chris,Why not put up a wanted thread for a gyro and tail servo? That is what i did and i ended up with a 401 for £50 & a Futaba s3153 digital tail servo for £19.So for £69 you can't go wrong and it's half the price of the combo your looking at getting and is far better IMO.
As far as lipos go its 3 cell 11.1V you want,The Mah rating varies from 1800Mah to 2200Mah and even higher,The higher the Mah the longer the duration. If it helps i ordered 3 x 3 cell 2200Mah lipos from Hobbyking.com (in Hong Kong) and they were only $17 each which is roughly around a tenner each and i received them in 4 days .
They are good lipos for the price and if your only a beginner then why fork out £50 a lipo when your just going to be hovering, circuits etc.Plus have a look at Maxpoly,i got two lipos for £25 each and you know you won't go wrong as it's a trusted name
        These are the ones i have just got;

That's brilliant, Grant. Thanks very much. I'm learning these things slowly but surely. I always thought that these not so well known brands were just 'Mickey Mouse' type things, but obviously not. I just looked at those lipo's on Maxpoly, they're half the price and more mah. Is it possible to 'overpower' on mah? I don't want a firework display and burnt out circuits on the first connection, lol, but obviously, I would like to get a sensible amount of flying time from each charge, say, 6-7 mins.

          Chris.

Maxpoly batts are what you need. The Turingy/Zippy packs are excellent value for money, but the balance leads dont last that long.

            Stick with the Maxpoly packs.

            (im also selling a 401 and a 9275 )

                Hi Mate,
im going top make a suggestion buy once buy right, if you can can afford it 401 & 9650 tail servo or 9257 servo, regards to lipos revo packs at 30 quid a go for 2100 3s are very good value for money i think, mine have had 20 or so cycles through them now not showing signs off power loss and i do occasionaly abuse them like last week took it down to a very low voltgae by mistake not having the esc setup for correct warning of battery voltage and forgetten to charge it, and with a 10s charger soon brought it back up with to much damage no puffing up.

my advise is by the best you can afford..

                hope this helps

out of interest on my 450 se

i have hs65 on the cyclics and a 401 & 9650 on the tail with no problems at all running 2100 revos on scorpion motor cant remeber the model number off the motor
If You Cant Dazzle' Em With Brilliance, Baffle' Em With emmmm you know the rest
