  • 450.... Binned

Little motto... always set up you heli before attempting to fly.....

Changed the 3153's for HS5056MG's and checked the center point and changed the direction... ! I thaught that was about it... wrong.....

the throtle and pitch curves didnt line up an more.... only had power when it was climbing like crazy... and 450's dont do auto's... so it was trying to fly off into the sun lost orientation twice recovered it twice... lots of buttock clenching.... and it was blowing a hooly then i planted it in a hedge.... !!!

moral of story always check the damm thing is set up right... if i had used idel up i could have saved it..... never mind....... one blade and a main shaft and a couple of sets of bearings.... (they were a bit notchy anyway)

    STeve
    Steve...

You should always redo your set up whenever you change any part of your heli, no two parts let alone two different makes will operate the same.
    Nik.

    Before you ask:

    About 2 miles
    Over £500
    Very difficult
    Over 80mph
NO, you can't have a go

C'est la vie. From the damage list it seems you got off pretty lightly? Saved by the nice soft hedge perhaps?

I am too much of a beginner to risk something as big as a 450 in a garage - nowhere to run! A Quark yes!

Whoops Steve, at least it was the 450 and not the chinook.
Had to put my lads Beam back together last night after a whoops but nearly all fixed now, and he whoops an auto on his 600 and dinked a torque tube gear, but i had a spare so thats all up and running again also

Unlucky Steve. Glad it wasn't a total bin bag job.

Shame it was so windy otherwise I guess you'd of gotten away with it.
