Just tried google and found this. Put into the same folder as phoenix.exe im guessing. Just use windows search to find it.

      Pete,

I had a similar problem, searched my entire machine and I couldn’t find zlib1.dll anywhere. In the end I just Googled “zlib1.dll”, it seems it’s a pretty standard .dll and you can download it from numerous places.

So, just download it and then copy it in to the Phoenix directory. After that you should be okay ~ worked me for me no problems.

edit the earlier posts came while I was typing.
        ---------------------------------------------

Warning: I'm guessing - I may be completely wrong.

        That said:
search the system directories (c:\winnt for example), whether there is any zlib1.dll.
If so, temporarily rename it it to for example zlib1.dllxxx.
        Try to start Phoenix.

        zlib1.dll should be found in

        c:\program files\phoenix
        c:\program files\phoenix\resources\utilities

if it's not there (unlikely), you can download it here
zlib Home Site zlib compiled DLL (download under "version 1.2.3, zipfile format"). The one in my Phoenix installation has at least the same version number.

                edit: edited

                http://www.zlib.net/zlib123-dll.zip

click and open the .zip archive - I hope you have "winzip" installed.

                Select "zlib1.dll", click "extract".
                save to
                c:\program files\phoenix

                extract it a 2nd time to c:\program files\phoenix\resources\utilities

That's what I would do - of course I can't be certain that it actually works :-)

I had the same probs last night Pete after attempting some updates. In the end i uninstalled Phoenix, I then deleted the program file on the C drive as this remained. I restarted the PC and then began loading the CD again followed by the updates and it all works again now. Hope this helps.
