  • Bristol Model Shops?

Off to Bristol this weekend and wondered if there was a recommended model shop worth a visit up there?

    Any recommendations?

For planks there is "Puffin Models", but be warned, me and a few mates use the "Puffin" scale as a measure of how angry we are, a bit like the Richter scale it's logarithmic

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

      Basicly there are three...

      Antics

in Broadmead alright if you need airfix or matchsticks.

      Als Hobbies

Alright if you need plank or plank related parts.... or airfix and Cliff is reasonably helpful if a bit vauge when it comes to the rotary wing. ( have more helis than that shoppe but they uasally have a good stock of hitec servos

      Ian Harper models

He has a reasonable stock of heli parts and equipment but price isnt his strong point.

Ohh and you'll never find Puffin its in a farm 9 miles down z roads I'm a local and i couldnt find it... or Hobby Hanger in Yeovil thats 40 miles...

I agree with blade striker there's no good model shops in bristol harper charges rrp plus 10 %
Als is next to useless for heli stuff puffin is ok he your into electric planks and gliders. Best advice is drive the 45 miles to yeovil and visit the best heli and plank shop in the southwest, hobby hangar.

I agree... i live in the middle and won't sit on the fence.

Hobby Hangar will be worth the visit if your in the area.

Ian Harper models got one visit from me..... that was the last. Grumpy is an understatement and more interested in discussing the learning of flying full size helis than the trade in question.

I bought a mag and left... see ya!!!
