Does anyone else feel the same way about their local post office...?
A few days back I left work an hour early (at 16:00) since my local (to my house) post office claimed that it closed at 17:30 on the Royal Mail website which is fair enough but hard to get to for me as it's during work hours.
I arrived at the post office for 16:50 with the slip that I'd collected on the way past my house so that I could pick up the one part I needed so that I could do the display I was booked in for that evening (after a few test flights). Paid for parking, walked to the post office the rest of the way (you have to be disabled to park near the post office for free) only to find it closed!
Looking at the slip they've decided to close it at 16:00 now (without updating the website) which is impossible for most working class people. This now leaves two options for me everytime I get a parcel delivered at home: take 1/2 a day off work or wait until Saturday morning. I'm annoyed that I have to be on holiday, on the dole or retired to pick up my 'signed for' parcels during the week now.
To make things worse, I politely spoke on the phone to a guy asking how I could get my hands on the parcel asap as I had commitments relying on it (hence next day delivery) and he was kind enough to patronise me! I really struggled not to bite during that conversation.
Another time I was down there when they did open at 17:30 and I was waiting in the queue at 17:15, as soon as the clock turned 17:30 the guy shut the window and walked off!
Is it me or is the post office heading down a steep hill these days?
This item 'could' have been delivered to my work address but a lot of companies will not deliver anywhere other than your billing address so in them cases I'm stuffed
.
Sorry, just needed to rant...
