  • Lipo's

When you buy a new lipo from the shop will/should it have charge in it?
they dont have a charge whilst being manufactured and if sitting on a shelf for 12 months before being sold surely they would have discharged themselves.
Reason I ask is coz im looking at batts on ebay and someone has bad feedback and reason for it was voltage was nil, surely if it was new in a box it would bil nil until charge and discharged a few times like normal batts??

Lipo's are sold/stored partially charged, usually about 50% and don't suffer from self discharge anything like NiCad’s or NiMH

Also, if a lipo is discharged to much it can permanently damage it.

I knew about too discharged and damaged but I dont get why some batts would be 0 volt just from being stored and sent over from HK

I bought 4 x Zippy 2200mah 11.1v 25c from HK for £68 delivered (they managed to slip under the Customs radar ). I checked each one on the Cellpro Multi 4 and they were all dead on 60% charged.

              Cheers

HK is Hong Kong, where is Hobby King? I hope they are ok I am dubious about using them anyway, if they were faulty that would suck.

Tight budget hence using cheap batts, but mostly as they are from an unreliable source, on the other hand if they work great then confidence booster and I would prob use em again,

Everything I've bought from Hobby King has been fine - delivery usually within 7 to 10 days except a couple of days longer when I ordered something on "National Grave tending day" - sounds like a fun event

                          Cheers

No-one told me he is unreliable but its the fact if anything is wrong there is not a lot you can do where as if i bought here i could go to the shop
