  • Full size autogyro crash - Bury Lancs - 4/7/09

Although I was working today and did not get a chance to visit the heli field, those that did manage, were witness to a full size autogyro crash. One of our plank pilots managed to get it on video and has posted it on youtube.

Not the best quality video, I beleive he is saving the better quality version for the local TV!

According to the eye witnesses (and there was a few) The pilot tried to take off downwind No excuse as there is a windsock on the fixed wing patch

Both occupants walked away, although one was limping a little. The pilot commented that this crash was not as bad as his last one!!!
